    The The’s “Uncertain Smile” single came out October 5, 1982. Here’s the 12-inch remix.

    Back in the dark ages when I was a radio DJ, we called “Uncertain Smile” the “I Need a Smoke Break Song” because the album version clocks in at almost 7 minutes.

    (You may now go ahead and make all the “Yeah, you totally have a face for radio, Jon!” jokes you want.)
